The Facts

Most entrepreneurs are discouraged by friends and family from starting a business.

It feels $hi**y, to the spirited entrepreneur, but in their own fearful way they're just trying to look out.

The truth is friends and family typically know little about what it takes to start a business.

They know its hard but that's where the advice stops.

And if they have built a business, they probably don't want you to feel the pain they did.

But turning away is not the answer.

More education, resources, and mentorship is.

Simply put, entrepreneurship is HARD.

So hard that...

20% of new businesses fail during the first two years of being open

45% during the first five years

65% during the first 10 years

Only 25% of new businesses make it to 15 years or more

So What Makes a Successful Business Successful?

The answer will always be one thing and one thing only and forever

Testimonials

I'm so glad I took the RYG assessment. It showed me everything I wasn't willing to look at with my idea that would have completely impeded my ability to franchise. I've decided not to launch my idea (at least at this time) and I thank Chris and SmallBizRoundtable for saving me time, money, and heartache I wasn't ready to invest.  Stephen P.

There's no one I trust more to tell a group of hopeful, someday business owners what the real deal is than SmallBizRoundtable. I don't think I learned as much in all my years in school. Invaluable is the only word I can use to describe this community.

Lindsey D.

As someone who is very immersed in more advanced business advising, I get a lot of people asking about whether they should start their business idea and what they need to do. I respond the same way every time. I automatically send them to Chris and SmallBizRoundtable as a source I trust to help them ensure they have clarity about what they need to do and how to do it! - Angela Cote @ ACinc.

Well worth the money for what I learned about myself as I consider whether or not to become an entrepreneur. With Small Biz Roundtables guidance and community I can put the pieces in place to make it happen. The RYG assessment was enlightening. I have a clear path forward now. -Dan H.

When we started our business, my husband and I did not have a tool to help us determine our readiness, and therefore we've had to slow down and change course A LOT.  It's so hard to start but with the right mentorship, it gets a whole lot easier. Working with Small Business Roundtables helped us chart a new course that we still follow today. - Jen C.
